Shirley Ann (Clark) Miller, "Mema", 78, of Ionia passed away Sunday night 
following complications due to open heart surgery. She was surrounded by the 
support and prayers of her children.

Born Sept. 7, 1933, Mema spent her entire life in Ionia enjoying the love and 
company of a large family and many friends. She had a gentle goodness about her 
and opened her heart and home to everyone. She was a loving mother, sister and 
grandmother. Her spirit will live in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Miller and her son Paul; as 
well as her parents, Claude and Bessie Clark; and siblings Marjorie, Evelyn, 
Connie, Harold (Hap) and Lawrence (Bud), all of Ionia. 

She is survived by her children, Pam (Rich) Schanski, Ned Miller, Jill Miller, 
all of Ionia, and Amy (Tim) Flynn, Kerry Bohland, both of Novi; as well as her 
sisters, Helen Loucks of Ionia, and Esther Kutras of California. She is also 
survived by her grandchildren, Erin and Drew Schanski, Trent and Jordan Miller, 
Brittany Adams, Bailey and Evan Robinson, Holden Feahr, Max and Grace Flynn and 
Parker Bohland. She also had two great grandchildren, Bella Adams and Bentley 
Ferris.

Funeral arrangements have been made at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Thursday, 
June 7. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with a short prayer service at 
6 p.m.
