She was born on May 10, 1928 to Frank Day and Gladys Hall. She was a loving wife and mother with 5 children, Doug Smith, Connie (Joe) Garza, Linda Helmer, David Smith, and Dennis (Vanessa) Smith. Eleanor has 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was best known for her work as a cook at Tommie's Restaurant and as a private caregiver for many Portland families. Eleanor has 3 sisters and 2 brothers, and is preceded in death by her loving husband Leonard Miller, and 2 great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to her wonderful caregiver of 14 years, Amber Wilson. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Pastor Fred Lab of Outreach Christian Church presiding. Interment will follow at North Eagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
