ROSE MARIE MILLER, 89
Rose Marie Miller, 89 was born on March 9, 1929 to Jack and Marion Whymer in Flint 
Michigan. Rose Marie was freed from her pain on September 18, 2018 while under the 
loving care of her family and Great Lakes Hospice.

She met John Joseph Miller their Senior year in high school and married on September
18, 1948. John predeceased her in 1995. She was a stay-at-home mother, a wonderful cook
and always had cookies in the cookie jar for her grandkids. She enjoyed her family
and was happiest when there was a gathering to feed them. She had life-long friends with
whom she spent many Friday nights. Rose Marie was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church,

Alter Rosary Society, and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She volunteered at SSPP.
School where all of her children attended. She attended daily mass and volunteered
regularly at the church.

She enjoyed bowling and golfing and was on local leagues, and was an avid bridge
player. She worked at Mitchell Bentley prior to starting her family and worked at Revco Drug
store in Ionia the 1980's.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother,
Robert Whymer, sister, Patricia Millard and in-laws Ben Miller, Ken and Katherine Miller,
Tony and Dorothy Miller, Wilma Miller and daughter-in-law Julie Miller.

She is survived by her children Robert & Charmaine Miller, John & Pam Miller of
Greenville, MI., Matthew & Margo Miller, Patrick & Joy Miller of New Smyrna Beach, Fl.,
Catherine & Larry Pearce, Joseph & Ericka Miller of Virginia Beach, VA, Marion & Mark
VanHouten.

Grandchildren; Ian Miller, Vincent Miller, Derek Miller, Michele (Joe) Ciganick,
Kristin (Nick) Cusack, Joel (Jennifer) Miller, Tara (Kam) Bozung, Gwen (Matt) Clark, Nick (Fleurie)
Miller, Elliott Miller, Kaylie Miller, Andy Gomez, Jack Miller, Kathleen Miller, Katie
(J.J.)  Murphy.

Great grandchildren: Braxton miller, Kendall, Kyle & Autumn Cusack, Ashlynn Rose &
Abigail Marie Miller, Ethan Bozung, Aiden Miller, Austin Murphy, Caleb VanHouten, Bryce
Murphy. Sister-in-law Theresa Whymer and brother-in-law Leonard Miller. Special Friends;
Jerry & Joan Blundy, Germaine Thompson, Sanford & Janet Yeomans, Carol Gregory, Ardith
Marino and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am, Saturday, September 22,
2018, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia with Father Tom Brown celebrant. Burial at
Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ionia. Visitation will be Friday 4-7 pm at Lake Funeral home in
Ionia with Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be Saturday 1 hour prior to service at the
church.

Contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice of SS. Peter & Paul Church. Online
