John (Jack) Miller 61, formerly of Lake Odessa, died February 29 at Veteran's hospital in Tucson, Ariz., after a long illness. Mr. Miller, was born near Woodbury and most of his life was spent in the Woodbury-Lake Odessa area with the exception of about five years in Owosso. Mr. and Mrs. Miller conducted a restaurant here for seven years, the former going to Arizona in February 1944 for his health. Mrs. Miller joined him there in May 1946 where they have since resided. Mr. Miller was a veteran of World war I. Surviving are the wife, Ann, three sons, Eugene, Jack and James Spencer, also two sisters, Mrs. Homer Pierce at Woodbury and Mrs. Aoly Signs at Sunfield, a brother Eli also in Sunfield and four grandchildren. The body arrived in Lake Odessa this afternoon and reposes at the Pickens funeral chapel where services will be held Friday at 2 under the auspices of LaVern Demaray post 112 of the American Legion, the Rev. Ronald A. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
