Harriet E. Miller, 74, of Saranac passed away at her home March 1, 2003.  She 
was born January 28, 1929 in Pontiac, the daughter of Claude and Mary (Ellis) 
Thomas.

She graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1947.  She married Robert Weeks 
March 13, 1947 who preceded her in death September 16, 1966, and then went on 
to marry Otto Miller January 21, 1967.

Harriet was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church and American Legion of 
Saranac.

She is survived by her husband Otto Miller of Saranac; son Bryce and Sharon 
Weeks of Saranac; daughters Sandie and Jerry Risher of Saranac, Linda and Paul 
VanBennekom of Saranac; special extended daughter Helen and Harvey Noon of 
Saranac; brothers, LeRoy and Erma Thomas of Lake Odessa, Ross and Janet Thomas 
of Lake Odessa; sister-in-law, Grace Nowak of Lowell; brother-in-law, Bob and 
LaVonne Miller of Bear Lake; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and 
many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, one 
daughter, one sister, three brothers, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Lake Funeral 
Home in Saranac with Rev. Joseph Framer officiating.  The family will receive 
friends and family Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 
at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Ionia 
County Hospice.
