Miller, 63, died suddenly while on duty at the Michigan reformatory Monday morning at 5:30 o’clock from a heart attack. Mr. Miller came to Ionia three years ago with Mrs. Miller and family, making their home on East Main street and has been employed at the Michigan reformatory. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, born at Dallas, Mich. By vocation he had been a well-known farmer in Clinton county, specializing in dairy farming, owning and operating the Willow Dairy farm north of Pewamo for a number of years. He was united in marriage to Adalaide Keister at her home in Pewamo in 1895. At one time he was associated with the Owosso Sugar Beet company where he became well acquainted in that community. Mr. Miller was a man who liked his family life, was a most congenial personality. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Carlton of Ionia, Russell and Manley of Detroit, three grandchildren, Merrilee, Maxine and Katherine Miller, four brothers, Henry, Fred, Harrison and John, and one sister, Mrs. John Spaulding, all located on farms near Pewamo. Funeral service will be held from the Boynton funeral chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. M. D. Duffey, pastor of the Methodist church where he attended, officiating. Interment at the East Plains cemetery in Clinton county. Subsequent Publication: Tuesday, October 2, 1934 A prayer service for the immediate family of George W. Miller will be held at the home, 433, East Main street, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, followed by a service at the Boynton chapel at 2:30, with Rev. M. W. Duffey officiating. Interment at East Plains cemetery, North of Pewamo. Mr. Miller’s death occurred while working at the Michigan reformatory Monday morning, from a sudden heart attack.
