In loving memory of John August Miller, Sr., aged 54, of Lake Odessa who went 
to be with his lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, June 6, 2007.  John was 
born inGrand Rapids, MI on April 2, 1953 to Alfred John and Lorraine (Schaner) 
Miller, and graduated from Grandville High School in 1971.  

He served in the US Navy from 1972-1975; his last service was abroad the USS 
Dubuque LPD-8.   Following his discharge John spent his career working in 
construction.  John was a member of the Living Gospel Church in Lake Odessa.  
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

John is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Ritzema) Miller; daughter, Jennifer 
May Miller; son, John August (Cindy) Miller, Jr.; grandchildren, Jerry, 
Mariah, and Maria Miller; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ray and Lois 
Ritzema; very special friends, Rock “The little buddy,” and Tony; and many 
aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, 
Barb; and brothers, Jerry and Tom.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 
10, 2007 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.  The funeral service will 
be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11.  Burial 
will be in Lakeside Cemetery.  The family has suggested that memorial 
contributions may be made to the Living Gospel Church.
