Calvin Miller, 60, longtime resident of Welch road, died late Wednesday evening at the Gratiot county Medical Care facility in Alma of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in September, 1976. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Thursday and Friday 7 to 9 p.m. A complete obituary will appear in Friday’s Sentinel-Standard. ------------- C. Calvin Miller, 60, a longtime resident of Welch road, died Wednesday evening at Gratiot County Medical Care facility in Alma of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in September, 1976. He was born in Belding, January 20, 1917, the son of Charles and Rena Russell Miller. He attended schools in Belding and served with the US Army in the Pacific theater during World War II. After his discharge he married M. Alberta Frost August 25, 19454 and they made their home in in Ionia since that time. She preceded him in death in September, 1976 Survivors include three sons, George and Robert Hoppough of Ionia and Jerrold Hoppough of Orleans; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Slater of Ionia and Mrs. Ray (Dawn) Read of Shepard; his grandmother Mrs. Amy Russell of Muir; one sister, Mrs. Karl (Beatrice) Benjamin of Lansing; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home with Rev. Lloyd G. Walker of LeValley United Methodist church officiating. Burial is in Highland Park cemetery. A memorial fund is established for the Gratiot County Medical Care facility.
