He was born August 31, 1947, in Grand Rapids, the son of Francis and Leona (BeVier) Miller. He was a graduate of Saranac High School in 1965. He married Julie Renwick December 22, 1966 in Saranac. Garry served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He was a charter member of Saranac Lions Club, president of Ionia Free Fair Association, and a member of American Legion of Saranac. He worked for Crystal Flash Energy (Fairchild Division) from 1969 until retiring in 2002. He was currently employed by Coldwell Bank Furton Hoppough where he was recently named Realtor of the Year for Ionia County. Garry was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife Julie Miller of Lowell; father Francis Miller of Lowell; son Scott and Kristy Miller of Rockford; daughter Jill and Todd Veenstra of Ellsworth; sisters Dee Parsons of Wyoming, Ml, Stella and Tom Boyak of Wetmore , MI ; brother-in-law Neil and Jan Renwick of Saranac; sisters-in-law Heather and Dan Pierce of Ionia, Gayle and Richard Peacock of Lake Odessa ; grandchildren Ethan Veenstra, Nicholas Miller, Garret Veenstra, Kaylee Miller; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother August 16, 2001. Funeral services will be held at Saranac Community Church on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ben Ritter officiating.
