Miller, 79, of Lake Odessa, died Saturday at home. He was born Dec. 28, 1906 in East Lansing, the son of Christian and Ella Rohrbacher Miller. He was a graduate of East Lansing High School and the Bellvue Hospital School of Nursing in New York. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. He married Ellen VanDam June 12, 1947 in Leslie, and they lived in Galesburg for 30 years before moving to Lake Odessa in 1977. He was a registered nurse at the Veterans Hospital in Battle Creek for 20 years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church, the Hastings Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Ellen, two sons, Jack of Lake Odessa and Paul of Harlingen, Texas, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, with the Rev. Glenn Wegner officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established for Woodland United Methodist Church and the Hospice of Hastings.
