Grand Valley Ledger, 5 May 1977

Freeport, died Friday morning, April 29, at Barry County Medical Care Facility in
Hastings where he had been a patient since February. He was born in Irving Township,
Barry County, on November 1, 1892, the son of James and Mary Sampson Miller. He
attended Irving and south Fish rural schools. He married Ida Blough in Clarksville
on January 28, 1914, and they made their home there. Besides farming he worked at
Burdett-Livingston Electric for 10 years. He was also employed by Blough sawmill at
one time. He attended Pleasant Valley Church. 

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Lowrey of Saranac; two grandsons,
Lyle Morrison of Byron Center and Vaughn Morrison of Saranac; three brothers, Warren
of Lake Odessa, Arthur of McBain and Ward of Lake City; and three
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday from Clarksville Bible Church with funeral arrangements
made by Pickens Koop Funeral Home in Clarksville and burial in Saranac Cemetery.
