Mr. Mill suffered a stroke of paralysis four years ago last June, and since that time life has been an up-hill battle. Last summer his heart began giving him trouble, and lately he would have a rush of blood to his lungs, and in his last attack the weakened heart was unable to stand the strain put upon it. Armand Delos Mills was born in Canada January 20th, 1855, and was a son of Henry and Lucy Mills. When about four years of age he came with his parents to Michigan and settled in Lapeer county, where they resided until 1868, when they moved to Lyons township where he has since made his home. He was married February 19th, 1878, to Laura Hopkins, who survives. To them were born three children, the first born dying in infancy. With the widow are two children, Mrs. Bertha Burger and Harry C. Mills, both of Lyons township, to mourn his loss. Mr. Mills had always been active in township politics, having served twenty- eight years as Justice of the Peace. When a young man he affiliated with the Masonic order of this village, and was a member of both F. & A.M. and R.A.M., was Past Master of both orders and had held nearly all the offices. He was chosen many times to attend the state meetings of the Grand Chapter. Owing to influenza in the family, the body was brought to the undertaking rooms of A.E. Bradt in the village, and Tuesday morning brief prayer services were held at the grave in Lyons cemetery, conducted by Rev. Geo. A. Brown.
