The Ionia Standard, Friday, October 9, 1885

Palo.  Correspondence of The Standard.

Mrs. Harriet Mills died of dropsy last Thursday morning, 24th.  She had been 
very feeble and almost helpless for many years, but had only been confined to 
her bed for one week.  She was buried on the same day before all the friends 
could arrive.  The funeral services were held the next day at the Baptist 
church of which she had been a member for 25 years.  She was a good reliable 
woman and highly esteemed in this community where she had lived since she was 
16 years old.
