MISS ELLEN MILLS DEIS WEDNESDAY

Well-Known Union Street Resident Succumbs Following Long Illness.

Miss Ellen M. Mills, 84, well-known resident of Ionia and Michigan, died at the 
residence, 306 Union Street, Wednesday evening at 8:05. Miss Mills had been in 
poor health since she was taken ill with an attack of the grip early in the 
spring. She was born in Coldwater in 1843.

Nieces and nephews of Miss Mills in Ionia and vicinity who survive her are; 
Mrs. Christine Hockstadt, of Lansing; Mrs. Bessie Johnson, Miss Kate Mills, 
Carl Wetterling and Edward Mills of Ionia. Another niece, Miss Mabel 
Wetterling, who teaches in Iron River, is in Ionia to spend the summer. Miss 
Mills is a great aunt of Miss Ruth Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Bessie Johnson. 
There are other nieces and nephews living in various sections of the United 
States.

The funeral will be held from the residence, 306 Union Street, Saturday 
afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment in family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery.
