GEORGE MILLS JR. 1945-2017
George (Butch) William Mills Jr., age 71 of Saranac passed away July 31, 2017 in 
Ionia. He was born September 15, 1945, the son of George and Catherine (DeGroot) 
Mills. George married Debbie Souza September 15, 2016 in Texas. He worked for 
Electrolux in Greenville for 32 year. He loved Hunting and Fishing.

Surviving are his wife Debbie Mills of Saranac. Children: Patricia (Loren) Field 
of Sheridan, Lynette (Don) Mercy of Grand Rapids, George (Holly) Mills III of 
Grand Rapids, Darlene (Ron) Mills of Grand Rapids, Pauline (Alan) Howell of 
Greenville and William (Kim) Mills of Greenville. Step-children; Chandra DeGood 
of Greenville, Alex Souza III of Ionia, Jeremiah Souza of Belding, Richard 
(Carry) Johnson of Sheridan, Nora Johnson of Greenville, Tim (Char) Johnson of 
Belding, Michael Thornton of Washington, Annette of Las Vegas and Kathy (Brian) 
Powers of Lake Odessa. Sisters: Carol (Bubba) Roberts and Robbie (Lloyd) 
Mutschler. Brother Roy Mills. Several grandchildren and Several Great-
grandchildren.  He was preceded in by  his parents, step-daughter Katherine 
Johnson, Step-son Benjamin Johnson, sisters Midge Hewitt, Roxanne Ridgeway, 
Susie and brother in law Don Hewitt.

Funeral services for Butch will be held Friday, August 4, 1017 at 11:00 a.m. at 
the lake Funeral Home in Saranac with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. 
Interment Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday
