Ionia Weekly Standard-Friday March 22, 1907

Wm.H. Mills died on Tuesday from apoplexy, at the home of his daughter, 
Mrs.Padgett, in Muir. He was stricken about a week ago. His age was 77. Mr. Mills 
was an early settler in North Plains, where he lived until a year or two ago, 
when  he went to Muir to make his home with his daughter. He enlisted in the 9th 
Mich.Infantry in fall of 1861, but was discharged about six weeks later on 
account of physical disability. Funeral at North Plains Church at 12:30, 
Thursday. .
