MUIR- Stanley K. Mills, 71, of 10 Garden St., Muir, died Sunday at his 
residence after a long illness.

Born in Lyons Township on Sept. 19, 1912, he was the son of Harry and Fern 
Mills. He attended Lyons High School.

He was married to the former Beatrice Gillson on Nov. 1935, and they lived in 
the Lyons area until 1956 when they moved to Muir and operated the Mills 
Restaurant.

He served as fire chief for both Lyons and Muir and also was a retired member 
of the Muir Village Council. He had also been self-employed as a carpenter and 
plumber. 
A life member of Lyons Lodge No. 37 F. & A. M., he was past master of the lodge 
and also past worth patron of Evergreen Chapter 334, Order of the Eastern Star. 
He attended the Lyons United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Patricia David, Doris Warren, Shirley 
Ferris and Judy Woodbury, all of Muir, 29 grandchildren and 30 great 
grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. 

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from 
the North Plains Community Church, with the Revs. Byron Coleman of Lyons United 
Methodist Church, and Robert Ziebarth of North Plains Community Church, 
officiating. 

Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.

Arrangements have been made by Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir.

Memorials have been established for his favorite organization in care of the 
funeral chapel.
