Mrs. Fern Mills, 74, a long time resident of Lyons died Saturday morning at the 
Meitler convalescent home in Portland where she had been since August following 
a long illness.

Mrs. Mills was born August 7, 1885, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Rasey of 
Greenville.  She attended Greenville high school and then took a business 
course.  She came to Lyons about 1907 as bookkeeper at the Herrick Casket Co.

She was married October 13, 1909, to Harry C. Mills of Lyons, who passed away 
November 7, 1958.  They had lived just east of Lyons since their marriage.  
Upon Mr. Mills death Mrs. Mills went to Portland to live with her daughter, 
Mrs. Leon Fenner.

Survivors are one son, Stanley Mills of Muir, one daughter, Mrs. Fenner; 11 
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Margaret Vandercook 
of Dundee.  One son Delos died in 1954.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 2 p.m. from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home 
in Muir.  The Rev. Robert Treat of Portland will officiate.  Burial will be in 
the Lyons cemetery.  Bearers will be George Couling, Lewis Means, Lansing; 
Wayne Fenner, Portland; Roger Warren, John Davis and Elmer Ferris, Lyons.
