Doris was born in Midland on Aug.11, 1934, the daughter of Lee and Leota Wendt McRoberts. For a number of years Doris worked at the meat counter at Kennedy's Grocery in Belding. She loved to sew and cook. Coming from a large family and having a large family Doris knew how important it it so love and spend time with her family. She is survived by her children, Steve Mapes, Jerry (Jackie) Mapes, Debbie (Gary) Christensen, Judy Pickle, Laurie Bowerman, Amy Gilbert, Charyl (Ron) Vlasblom, Jackie (Rick) Crooks, Bill Millwood Jr, Sally Millwood and Penny Millwood; 28 grandchildren 51 great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters,Willa Short, Doug McRoberts, Charlie (Susan) McRoberts, Jim McRoberts, Tom Randall and Christine Empie. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1988, her parents; son John Mapes and a son-in-law Allen Gilbert; two daughters in infancy; brothers, Frank, Barney, Alvin and Junior; two sisters,Jean and Marjorey. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment will follow Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Visitation will also be one hour before the service at Shiloh Community Church. Memorials may be given to Belding Area Lions Club or Crippled Children's Foundation.
