He was born Aug. 8, 1959 in Ionia, the son of Edward J. and Mary (Gould) Minard. He graduated from Saranac High School in 1977. He was a member of Sons of American Legion of Saranac, a member of North American Hunting Club and a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his mother, Mary and Gordon Carrick of Saranac; stepmother, Geraldine Minard of Saranac; special friend, Roxanne Kitsmiller of Lake Odessa; children, Joni (Kyle) Hilton of Grand Ledge, Tara (Rob) Nye of Lansing and Paul Fuller of Belding; brothers, Scott (Darla) Minard of Saranac and David (Carlene) Minard of Grand Rapids; sister, Toni Frazer (friend, Bernie Babbler) of Saranac; stepsisters, Diane Starr of Cedar Springs and Linda (Kevin) Wilkinson of Clarksville; special friends, Jack and Barb Smit of Saranac; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at St. Anthony Church with Father Thomas Burford officiating. A visitation will be held at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Ionia Area Hospice.
