Minier, 75, of 322 Lafayette, died at his home early Tuesday morning after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Lakeview, October 6, 1901, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Minier and attended schools and graduated from Palo high school with the class of 1920. He married the former Marietta Higbee in Ionia in 1920 and they continued to make their home in Ionia. She preceded him in death March 3, 1971. Mr. Minier then married Ula Little Cordes in Ionia. She survives. Mr. Minier worked as a Standard Oil agent in Ionia for 35 years before retiring and was a member of the Ionia Elks, past exalted ruler of the lodge and Elk of the year in 1970. he was also a member of the Ionia county Historical Society. Survivors include his wife Ula; one son, Frank (Jim) of Ionia; two stepsons, Alfred Cordes of Washington, D.C. and Don Cordes of Grand Haven; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Betty Watterson of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Kenneth (Colleen) DeWaard of Holland; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 12 step- grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren. Services are Friday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home with Rev. Hubert Callahan of Battle Creek officiating. Burial is in Balcom cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday and Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund is established for the Michigan Heart fund.
