Minzey, age 46 years, and a long time resident of this city, died at the University hospital, Ann Arbor, Monday at about noon, with death following an illness which had afflicted him for about two months, and which was caused by a heart ailment and a complication of other diseases. Mr. Minzey was born at North Baltimore, Ohio, on May 17, 1896. As a young man he came to this city and was married to Miss Lela McDonald, who with two daughters, Mrs. Robert Bromley and Miss Marvel Minzey, both of this city survive him. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Frank K. Minzey; two sisters, Mrs. Joshua Mason, and Miss Myrtle Minzey, and a brother, William Minzey, all of Lansing. There is also one grandchild, Robert Bromley, of this city. The family home is at 534 Merrick avenue, this city. For a number of years Mr. Minzey was employed in the refrigerator factories of this city and when they closed he went to the basket factory where he was employed for a number of years. For some time prior to his last illness he had been employed by the Gibson corporation. He was of a genial disposition and was well liked by all who knew him and his passing will be learned of with deep regret by his legion of friends. Mr. Minzey was a member of the local Masonic lodge and a former member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He also held membership in the Veterans’ Purple Chevrons, Inc. Victor Ellis, local funeral director, went to Ann Arbor and returned the body of Mr. Minzey to this city and it is now at the Ellis funeral home, corner of Broas and Congress streets where the funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. H.S. Ellis officiating and burial will be in Otisco cemetery. Pallbearers were Floyd Warner, Charles Williams, Perry Outman, Richard Rummler, George Cota and Floyd Cone.
