Wave, Thurs. Nov. 30, 1950 John J. Mishler Dies at Age of 65 John J. Mishler, 65, carpenter, died at his home in Grand Rapids last Monday after several months illness. He was born in Bowne township and resided in the Freeport area until moving to Grand Rapids about twenty-five years ago. He was a former road builder and constructor and worked on several road jobs in this area including M-50. He was employed as carpenter on the Lakeview Bowling Alley when that structure was built. Surviving are his wife, Vilena, a niece Mrs. Corrine Martin who resides with them for years, two brothers, Will of Freeport and Ervin of St. Johns, four sisters, Mrs. Murl Hostetler of Freeport, Mrs. Abe Eash of Alto, Mrs. Warren Roush of Hastings and Mrs. Lucy Graybil of La Junta, Colorado. funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 at the First Methodist church. Dr. Lester Kilpatrick officiated. Burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Freeport.
