John A. “Jack” Mitchell, age 65, of Lake Odessa, passed away late Wednesday
evening, December 12, 2007.  Jack was born in Leslie on August 19, 1942 to
William and Elaine (Dowling) Mitchell.  He was a graduate of Lake Odessa High
School in 1960.

Most recently, Jack had owned Jack’s Shoe Store in Lake Odessa.  He had worked
at Klingman’s in Grand Rapids, and had also owned William’s Dept. Store in Lake
Odessa for many years.

He had been a member of the Lake Odessa Lions Club.

Jack is survived by his children, John Ryan Mitchell, and Kristy and Mitchell
Robbins; mother, Elaine Mitchell; sisters, Marilyn (Richard) Brown and Margaret
(Darwin) Thompson, and many other loving relatives and friends.  He was preceded
in death by his father, William Mitchell.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at
the Calvary Grace Brethren Church (13700 84th St. SE, Alto).  Burial will be at
Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa.  Memorial contributions may be made to the
American Cancer Society to be used for cancer research.  Arrangements by Koops
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
