The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 23, 1948

Emery R. Mitchell, 64, died Saturday, August 21, at 2:15 p.m. at the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. Richard White of 640 Cyrus street.  He was born in Ionia 
township.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard White of Ionia, and Mrs. C. B. 
Ferguson of Palo; two sons, John Mitchell of Grand Rapids and Pfc. Robert 
Mitchell stationed with the army in Massachusetts; and a brother, Mose 
Mitchell of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Myers 
funeral home with the Rev. J. Lee Lewis officiating.  Interment will be in the 
North Plains cemetery.
