Mitchell, 72, of Belding, died Thursday morning, Sept. 4, 2008, at Metron of Belding. Marilyn was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Hubbardston, the daughter of John and Bernice McQuag Loucks. Marilyn was always proud that she graduated in the top 10 of her class from St. Mary’s High School in Carson City. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding. Marilyn had true love for her family and will be greatly missed. Marilyn was married on Oct. 4, 1958, in Carson City to James A. Mitchell and he survives along with their children, Richard and Carrie Mitchell of Webster, N.Y., Pete and Annette Mitchell of Stanton, Sandra and Edward Scheid, Thomas and Tonya Mitchell, and James H. Mitchell, all of Belding, Laura and Harry Hucklebury of Stanton and Jean and Stan Hoskins of Muir. Marilyn is also survived by 14 grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, John “Jack” Loucks and Karen Strader of Belding, Pat and Janet Loucks of St. Johns, Kay and Gene Hodges of Carson City, Rose and Tom Bowler of Grand Ledge, her sisters-in-law, Cora Russell and Alice Mitchell; brother-in-law, Duane Robinson; special cousin, Dorothy Hutting of Carson City; and longtime friend, Katie Jewell of Belding. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joan; and one grandson, Jeffrey Mitchell. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Fred Brucker presiding. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, followed with a rosary, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Church, the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Michigan.
