MITCHELL AT LAST FALLS VICTIM TO DREADED BRIP. Well Known North Plains Resident Suffered from Hiccoughs for Forty-Eight Hours Previous to His Death. The death of Wm. Mitchell, an old and well known resident of North Plains township, occurred at his residence south of Palo, Tuesday afternoon at about four o'clock. Mr. Mitchell has been ill with grip for some time and was stricken with an attack of hiccoughs from which he suffered for 48 hours previous to his death. It was thought that the hiccoughs had been stopped, but they returned with greater violence Tuesday. Mr. Mitchell had never been sick in his life, until he was taken with his last illness. Mr. Mitchell was 74 years of age and was born in Canada, August 31, 1836. When a small boy he came to Michigan and has resided for many years in Ionia county in North Plains. He married Miss Della Johnson (unreadable) 1881 and (portions unreadable) children are (unreadable) Chas A. Mitchell (section unreadable) Ellen. One daughter, Mrs. Fred Herbert is dead. One brother in Nebraska and many friends also survive. The funeral is from the North Plains church Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Additional Comments: N.
