LAKE ODESSA- Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Mitchell will be Monday at 2 
pm at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Rev. Burnley Spencer of 
Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell, 40, of route 1 Lake Odessa, died Friday at Blodgett hospital 
in Grand Rapids, where she had been a patient the past 12 days.

She was born October 22, 1927 in Eaton county, the daughter of Ray and 
Amanda Slabaugh Horn. She was graduated from Charlotte high school.

September 24, 1949 she was married to Laurence Mitchell at Battle Creek and 
moved to Lake Odessa on Musgrove highway in 1961. She was a member of First 
church of God of Hastings.

Besides her husband Laurence, she leaves a daughter, Connie Sue and a son, 
Larry Todd, both at home; parents, Mr. and Ms. Ray Horn of Battle Creek;  
two sisters, Mrs. Phillip Bursley of Battle Creek and Ms. Donald Wolfe of 
Nashville.
