Ionia County News, 26 Aug 1926

Mrs. Thomas Mitchell, 61, well known resident of this city, a patient at the
Traverse City State hospital for the past three months, died Sunday, following an
illness extending over a year.  She was born in Berlin township and was a life-long
resident of this county.  She was a former school teacher and gave up the profession
to care for her father, Silas Adgate, through his illness.  She was a member of the
Methodist church.  The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the late home in
Berlin with Rev. H.G. Hurrell, pastor of the Church of Christ, in charge.  Interment
was made in Saranac cemetery.  She is survived by her husband and an adopted son,
Spencer, 14, also a half-brother, Homer Adgate, and a sister, Mrs. Milo Adgate.
