Mrs. James Mobbs Passed Away at Her Home Here Last Week. Mourned By Entire Community. The entire community was saddened when it was announced that Mrs. Daisy E. Mobbs had passed away about 11 o’clock the morning of July 24. The little son born to her departed with her to the better land. All that loving hands and medical skill could do was done to save her, but to no avail. When it was seen that there was not hope of saving her all of her family were summoned, and all were with her when she passed away. The deceased was born February 10, 1881, in North Plains township, Ionia county, Michigan, where she resided until her tenth year, at which time she came with her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. D. E. Dean, to Carson City, which has been her home almost continuously since. She was one of the graduates of the high school in the class of 1900. October 5, 1902, she became a member of the Methodist church, and since that time has been a most faithful and consistent Christian. She was also an earnest member of the Epworth League and a devoted worker in the W.C.T.U., and was president of the latter at the time of her demise. Following her graduation from school she clerked in a dry goods store at Lainsburg for seven months. She was then employed as a clerk by Krohn & Netzorg in this place for a year and in W. Gardner’s store for about two years. She was also a successful teacher, having taught in the Hively district in Crystal township and the Blackmer district in Bloomer. She was united in marriage to James C. Mobbs, November 22, 1910, since which time they have resided with her parents. Besides her husband and parents she leaves to mourn her loss one brother, Jay Dean, of this place, and one sister, Mrs. Will Russell, of Ithaca, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Her loss is universally deplored, as she was much admired and respected for her many excellent traits of character, her devotion to husband, parents and home. Her daily life exemplified to a marked degree the beauties of the Christian graces. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock and were very largely attended. Her pastor, Rev. H. V. Wade, officiated, reading for the Scripture lesson passages which Mrs. Mobbs had married in her Bible – Gal. 6:5; Psalms 126:6; John 14:14-18; Matt. 11:28-30; Rev. 22: ??. The large number of beautiful floral offerings attested the high esteem in which the deceased was held and the deep sympathy for the bereaved ones. As a further tribute the business places of Hubbardston were all closed while the procession passed through on the way to the place of interment in the East Plains cemetery, near Matherton.
