Mrs. Catherine Moes Dies After Fall

Mrs. Catherine Moes, 82, died Thursday night at Pennock hospital in Hastings.  She
had been a patient eight days with a fractured hip received in a fall at her home in
Lake Odessa.  She was born October 9, 1877 in the Netherlands, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Herman.  She was married to Marinus Moes in the Netherlands, January
19, 1906, and came to Michigan in 1910.

For the past 37 years she had resided either on a farm near Lake Odessa or in the
village.  Mr. Moes died in 1944.  Mrs. Moes attended the Calvary Brethern church.

She is survived by three daughters, Catherine Moes and Susie Moes of Lake Odessa,
and Mrs. Bona (Elizabeth) Aungst of Grand Ledge; two sons, Peter Moes of Lansing and
John Moes of Lake Odessa; one brother, Peter Herman of the Netherlands; four
grandchildren and four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Pickens funeral home Monday afternoon with the
Rev. L.H. Osgood of Woodland officiating.  Burial was made at Lakeside cemetery.
