MOLTMAKER LAKE ODESSA -- Joseph H. Moltmaker, 81, of 743 Washington Blvd. died Saturday in Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1898, In Ada, the son of Henry and Bertha (Guet) Moltmaker. Mr. Moltmaker attended school in Ada and lived in the Grand Rapids area until moving to Lake Odessa in 1923, where he was a farmer and carpenter. He married Gertrude Fopma on Jan. 22, 1920, in Grand Rapids. She preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 1974. He married Irene S. Hunt in May 1975 in Lake Odessa. Mr. Moltmaker was a member of the Central United Methodist Church of Lake Odessa. He is survived by his wife, Irene; two sons, Kenneth Moltmaker of Lake Odessa and Dean Moltmaker of Mt. Clemens; one stepson, Dallas Hunt of Caledonia; one stepdaughter, Sharon Kyser of Lowell; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The Rev. William Hertel officiated. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions were made to the Central United Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Mark Moltmaker, Michael Moltmaker, David, Moltmaker, Allan Moltmaker, Bryan White and Mark White.
