Frank Monasmith Passes Away

Former area resident, Frank Monasmith, 85, passed away Monday morning at the 
home of his niece Mrs. Lloyd Fisher, route 2, Edwardsburg.

He was born in Odessa Township, Ionia County, October 20, 1877 the eldest son of 
John Monasmith and Allie Hough. He married Louise Smith of Woodland, who 
preceded him in death about 30 years ago. About 20 years ago he retired from the 
former Michigan Central Railroad as section man and moved to Edwardsburg.

He is survived by one brother, Vern of Edwardsburg, and several nieces and 
nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Zion 
Lutheran church Woodland with Rev. Robert Richardson officiating and burial in 
Lakeside cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 
hour of service. Arrangements by Pifer-Mayhew Funeral Home of Edwardsburg.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way 
Employees Lodge No. 18 and 13, and the Nights of Pythias of Woodland.
