Mary Ashton Monger (nee Tuttle), 92, passed away on May 30, 2013 at Heartlands 
Healthcare Facility after a brief illness.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1921 in Ionia to Norman A. and Janie (Ashton) Tuttle. 
Mary was raised on Tuttle Road and attended Badder Country School and Ionia 
High School from which she graduated in 1937 at age 16. On July 6, 1937 she 
married Roger W. Monger and they enjoyed 58 years together until his passing in 
April 1996. Mary worked 30 years for the State of Michigan retiring in 1982 as 
the Claims Supervisor at the Michigan Employment Security Commission in Ionia. 
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Women's Literary Guild, Yellow 
Rose Hospital Guild, and the Ionia First United Methodist Church.

She loved to travel and toured much of the United States, England, Scotland, 
Wales, Australia, New Zeeland, Mexico, Canada and the Virgin Islands. Mary 
played piano, organ, violin, enjoyed oil painting and soloed out in an airplane.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Rosalind (Robert) Weber; grandson, Roger 
(Lisa) Weber;  granddaughter, Rachel (John) Jacobsen; great-grandson, Robby 
Weber; sisters, Elizabeth Winslow; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mary A. Monger will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3 at 
Lake Funeral Home of Ionia with Rev. Larry Brown officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 2 from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset 
Memorial Gardens of Ionia.
