Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Aug 1950

Oliver Monks died Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Roush convalescent home on East Main 
street after suffering a heart attack.  He had been a patient at the home since 
June 7.

He was born October 18, 1866, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Monks of Saranac.  
He lived most of his life in Saranac.

He is survived by the widow, Anna, of Saranac, two brothers, Ray of 263 East 
Washington street, and Ralph of Canada City, one sister who lives in Saranac, 
Mrs. Maxwell of Flint and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Morris funeral home 
in Saranac.  The Rev. Glenn McCarty will officiate.  Interment will be Saranac 
cemetery.
