She had been ill since November 1. Mayme Malone was born in 1877 in Ionia and lived in her present home 67 yeas. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Malone and was graduated from Ionia high school in 1898. Mrs. Monks was a member of the Church of Christ, the Bethany circle of the Church of Christ, the Minnie Howard club and was a board member of the Ionia County Federation of Women’s clubs. She had two hobbies, raising flowers and collecting antiques. Surviving is her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Thomas, of Ionia, and one granddaughter, Judy. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Boynton funeral home. The Rev. C. A. Brady will officiate and burial will be in Balcom cemetery.
