Mr. Clein W. “Bill” Monks, 78, of Ionia, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, 
at Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia.

Bill was born Apr. 27, 1920 in Ionia, the son of Clyde and Elsie (McCoy) 
Monks.  He grew up in Ionia and attended Ionia schools.  He was married to 
Donna Mier on Oct. 7, 1961, at the First Presbyterian Church in Ionia.

Bill liked hunting, fishing, camping, boating and snowmobiling.  He was a 
member of the Ionia Loyal Order of Moose #998 and the Grand Valley Snowmobile 
Club.
