He made his home with his son-in-law, Henry Lake, in Ronald township. He had lived nearly all his life in the vicinity of Ionia and Saranac. Coroner Harry Myers and Deputy Ben Neve of Ionia were called to the Lake home. Coroner Myers said there would be no inquest and attributed his death to a heart attack. Monks, who was crippled, was found by Lake’s son, Burton, 21. Burton is scheduled to leave this month for service in the army. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Dow of Traverse City and one sister of Greenville. One daughter, Mrs. Henry Lake, died three years ago. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 pm from the Myers funeral home on East Main street with interment at the Orleans cemetery.
