Sentinel-Standard - Thursday, Oct. 12, 1944

William I. Monks, Jr. five-months-old son of Private and Mrs. William Ivan Monks, 
531 State Street, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock in his home. Ill 
less than a week,, death was attributed to a throat infection.

He was born May 4, 1944, and his father is servicing with an army unit overseas. 
Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Paul 2 1/2, and Dale 1 12; his 
paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Monks of Saranac and his maternal 
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Miller, of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Myers funeral 
home with burial in Tuttle cemetery.
