Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 Oct 1945

Isaac Otis Monks, 75, a resident of Saranac, was found dead in bed by his son at
11:30 p.m. Sunday.  He had been suffering from a heart ailment.  He has been living
with his son, Clayton Monks, at Saranac.  He is survived by his sons, Clayton and
Roy, who is serving with the United States army in France; three brothers, Ralph, of
Kansas, Oliver, of Saranac, and Ray of Ionia; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Hoxie, of
Saranac. 

Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Morris funeral
home in Saranac with the Rev. E. Hewitt officiating.  Interment will be in Saranac
cemetery.
