Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. April 6, 1995

IONIA- George N. Montgomery, 43, of Ionia died April 5, 1995, at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 28, 1951, in Ionia, he was the son of George T. and Ella Smith 
Montgomery.

He was married to the former Dawn McCaul in Ionia in 1970.

He was worked as a truck driver for Ionia County Road Commission since 1970, 
and for many years he was a Youth League coach in Ionia, and also played 
softball for many years.

He is survived by his wife Dawn; a son, George (Darla) Montgomery Jr. of Wood; 
a daughter, Jenny Montgomery of Ionia; his mother, Iolene Montgomery of Ionia; 
four grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexis Montgomery, Nathan Burhans and Ashley 
Vogt; a brother, Jimmy Montgomery of Ionia; and four sisters, Bonnie (Roger) 
Hull, Lilliam Hagstrom, Ginger (Ron) Mathis, and Betty Jane (Gene) Conley, all 
of Ionia.

Visitation will Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral 
chapel.

A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association in care of 
the funeral chapel.



He was preceded in death by his father in 1973 and by a sister, Brenda 
Montgomery, also in 1973.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 7, at 2 p.. at Myers Memorial Chapel, 
148 E. Main St., with the Rev. Kirk Starkweather of the Ionia Church of the 
Nazarene officiating.
