George T. Montgomery, Jr., 57, of route 1, Saranac, died Friday of a heart
condition at Ionia County Memorial hospital.  Born in Easton township August 29,
1915, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Montgomery.  August 21, 1943, he was
married in Muskegon to Iolene Smith.  He was a self employed contractor, cement
mason and painter until his retirement to ten years ago due to ill health.

Surviving besides the wife, Iolene; are two sons, George N. Montgomery of route
1 and James at home; five daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Hull, Mrs. Virginia Mathis,
Lillian Montgomery and Brenda Montgomery of Ionia and Betty J. Montgomery at
home; five grandchildren; brother, Charlie Montgomery of Ionia; five sisters,
Mrs. Beulah Smith of Ionia, Mrs. Lilliam Speckin of Lansing, Mrs. Nellie Davis
of Amble, Mrs. Gladys Ogden and Mrs. Nina Fredrickson of Ionia.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home.  Rev.
Marvis Hale will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery.  Family
will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. and Monday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established for the
pulmonary cardiac unit at Ionia county Memorial hospital.
