Moon was held Saturday at two o’clock p.m., at his late residence in Otisco. It was the largest funeral ever held in the township. His death occurred sometime in the early morning hours of last Thursday in his bed, having apparently gone quietly into the sleep that knows no waking. Mr. Moon had been in poor health for several months but was able to be out and supervise his business on the farm. He was the highway commissioner of Otisco township and recently had been overseeing the work of road making. Mr. Moon who was familiarly known as “Dow” was the son of James Moon and was born on the old farm where he died in 1863. He was 52 years old. He married Miss Fanny Kohn and besides her, he leaves a daughter Miss Lydia Moon and two sons Russell and Alton. “Dow” Moon was an excellent citizen, generous to a fault and had a host of friends. Rev. A.J. Blair officiated at the funeral and the burial took place in the Otisco cemetery.
