ORANGE

Pioneers Passing Away

ORANGE, Feb. 10- Another of Michigan’s pioneers has passed over the river. Mr. 
N.M. Moon died at his home here Wednesday, Feb. 3, aged 83. He leaves a wife 
and a large family of grown-up children. Funeral took place at the church 
Friday. Sermon by Rev. McLane; burial at the Balcom cemetery.

Five of Mr. Moon’s children arrived from a distance in time for the funeral: 
One from Janesville, Wis.; another from Hudson;  one from Blanchard; another 
from Cooperville; and a son, Robert, from Grand Rapids, Mich.

Estate of Nathan M. Moon

PROBATE ORDER - of Michigan, County of Ionia – ss. At a session of the Probate 
Court for said county, held at the probate office in the city of Ionia, on 
Tuesday, the 9th day of February, A.D. 1897.

Present – Charles L. Wilson, Judge of Probate. In the matter of the estate of 
Nathan M. Moon, deceased. On reading and filing the petition, duly verified, of 
Eunice Moon, widows of said deceased, praying that administration of said 
estate may be granted to Hugh Guthrie, or some other suitable person. Thereupon 
it is ordered, that

Tuesday the 9th day of March next, at one o’clock in the afternoon at said 
probate office, be assigned for hearing said petition. And it is further 
ordered, that a copy of this order be published in the IONIA STANDARD, a 
newspaper printed and circulating in said county of Ionia, three successive 
weeks previous to said day of hearing.
