Ionia Daily Standard, 2 Oct 1899

Alfred Moon, an inmate of the county house, died there yesterday.  Deceased was
an old soldier, aged about 60 years, and is registered as from Saranac.  He was
self-supporting; he preferred the good care he received at the county infirmary
and the county was repaid by Moon’s guardian, Capt. Gifford, of Saranac.
