                              VIOLA G.MOON

IONIA - Viola G. Moon,85, of Peck Lake Road (Tremaine Corners) died in Kent 
Community Hospital Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness.

Born in Muncie,Indiana, August 9, 1892, a daughter of Carl and Martha (Dickover) 
Gunckel, the family moved to McBride in 1904. She was married in Remus, to 
Wilbur Moon, June 28, 1917, and the couple made their home on Peck Lake road 
most of their married life. He preceded her in death February 22, 1965.

Mrs.Moon was a former employe at Ypsilanti-Reed in Ionia but retired from the 
Jolly Kid factory in Belding.

She was a member of Carr Corner's Church.

Surviving are three sons, Wilbur and Harry Moon of Ionia and David Gunckel of 
Conklin; one daughter, Mrs.Louis (Gladys) Walker of Belding, a daughter-in-law, 
Rose Moon of Ionia; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A son,Howard, 
preceded her in death on March 15, 1976.

Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday from Leddick Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin 
Barker, of the West Berlin Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Burial is at Balcom Cemetery on West Tuttle road.
