The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, August 27, 1941
Albert Moon, 68, died Wednesday at 3:15 a.m. at this home at 722 Hackett 
street following a cerebral hemorrhage Saturday evening.  He had been in poor 
health for the past five years.  Born December 19, 1873, in Illinois, he was 
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Moon.  For the past 50 years he had made his home 
in Ionia.  He was employed as janitor at the Emerson and high school buildings 
in Ionia for the past 18 years and before that he worked as janitor at the 
Ionia post office and also as a carrier at the post office.

He married Mrs. Bessie Russell in October of 1929.  Surviving are the wife, an 
adopted daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Vitich, two grandchildren, four stepchildren, 
Elvert Russell of Detroit, Ernest Russell of Ionia, Mrs. Lucille Hodell of 
Cedar Springs and Lawrence Russell of Ionia and one sister in Illinois.

Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral home on Rich street 
Friday at 2 p.m.  Rev. F. G. Dunbar will officiate.

Funeral services for Albert Moon who died Monday morning were held Friday 
afternoon from the Boynton funeral home with Rev. F. G. Dunbar officiating.  
Interment was at Oak Hill cemetery.  Chandler Haight Sr. and Mrs. Helen 
Benedict furnished the music.  Bearers were John A. Gates, Alex Marchbank, 
Edward Marshall and William C. Gellendin. 

Attending the service from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Russell and 
Ronald, Mary Lou and Thelma, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Russell of Detroit, Mr. 
and Mrs. Hollis Hodell of Cedar Springs, and Miss Genevieve Vitich of 
Farmington.
