Bennett lib@dogsbark.com May 17, 2010, 6:25 pm Ionia Sentinel Standard MOONEY, CECILIA DAISY: IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, Wed., January 26, 1949: "MISS CECILIA (DAISY) MOONEY, 49, 407 Center street, died Tuesday at 4:10 p.m. at the Ionia Convalescent home after an illness of 13 months. She was born in Grand Rapids April 6, 1899, the daughter of John J. and Mary Mooney. She graduated from Catholic Central high school in Grand Rapids and lived in Grand Rapids and Chicago before coming to Ionia 12 years ago to live with her aunt, Mrs. Nellie Pettingill, Center street. She worked as a children's clothing saleswoman. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church, the Rosary circle and the D. of I. Funeral services will be held from SS. Peter and Paul church Friday at 9 o'clock with interment at St. Andrews cemetery in Grand Rapids at the side of her mother. Rosary will be said at Boynton funeral home Thursday at 7:45 p.m." DAILY SENTINEL STANDARD, Fri., January 28, 1949: "CECILIA (DAISY) MOONEY - Requiem High Mass was conducted by the Rev. Fr. John S. Fons for Miss Cecilia Mooney, 49, Friday morning at 9 o'clock, preceded by a prayer service at Boynton's funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Interment was in St. Andrews cemetery in Grand Rapids. Bearers were Clark Hogan, Thomas Humphrey, Francis Lawless and Ed. Quirk. Miss Mooney died at the Ionia Convalescent home Tuesday afternoon after being in poor health since August."
