Mooney, 53, of Chicago who died last Thursday in Northwestern hospital, Minneapolis, after a brief illness of pneumonia. Burial was in Mt. Olivet. The body was brought here Friday and taken to the home of a sister, Mrs. William Pettengill at 407 Center Street. Mr. Mooney was born and reared in Ionia and attended the Academy. For a great many years he had been a traveling salesman and of late had been employed by the Grand Rapids Hardware company and it was while in the service of this firm that he was stricken with his fatal illness. Surviving is the wife and a daughter, Miss Celia Mooney, of Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. Pettengill of Ionia, and Mrs. M. J. O’Brien of Chicago.
