Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 Apr 1935

Stricken with apoplexy 10 days ago, Mrs. Maria Moore, 73, lifelong resident of 
Chadwick, died Sunday noon in the Belding hospital.  She was the widow of 
William J. Moore, to whom she was married in 1881 and whose death occurred 
eight years ago.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Fales funeral home at Belding Tuesday 
afternoon at 2:30.  Interment will be made at Green cemetery.

Mrs. Moore was one of five children born to Charles and Delia Chadwick, pioneer 
residents of Chadwick.  When that community was in the midst of lumbering 
activities, her father conducted a general store for many years, serving as 
postmaster for the area in conjunction.

Surviving are an adopted daughter, Mrs. Orson Rowley of Wood’s corners; a 
brother, Forrest, residing near Belding, besides several other relatives.  Mrs. 
Fern Banhagel, of this city, was a niece.  The deceased was a sister of the 
late Mrs. Kate Tuttle.
